Guided Tours

Visitors may walk through the display areas on their own or enjoy guided tours of varying lengths adjusted to fit their schedules.

Our collection of cultural and religious objects fills five display areas: Makkah and Beyond, South Asia, Indonesia, Africa, and Qiblah. Each area contains one of the Five Pillars of Islam and an explanation, plus a  Christian theological or missiological message. Also, each area contains posted information and flyers that inform the self-guided visitor of historical and religious significances.

  • GUIDED TOURS are offered for church groups, school classes, and others.
  • GUIDED TOURS can be arranged for Monday through Thursday (during operating hours: 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.) and also for Fridays, weekends, and evenings.
  • PRAYER WALKS (guided or self-guided) through the displays allow visitors to focus on individuals, missionary needs, and churches everywhere.

This wood carving shows a young boy learning Arabic and the five daily prayers by writing on his "erasable" Qur'an board.

The dokan pictured here was built in East Pakistan and shipped to the United States. Included in the South Asia room are items from Pakistan, India, and East Pakistan (now Bangladesh). The woman's clothing at the left of the photograph is typical of clothing worn by Muslim women if they were outside of their homes in public.
